Assistance League of Bellingham Mission Statement

Assistance League of Bellingham is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization serving Whatcom County children, adults and seniors.

A Letter From Our President…

Welcome to Assistance League of Bellingham, a member of Assistance League, a national organization comprised of 23,000 members in more than 120 chapters. Each chapter’s focus is on its local community’s needs.

Assistance League of Bellingham is best known for our flagship program, Operation School Bell®, that provides school clothing and shoes for over 1700 kindergarten through eighth grade students. The program also has expanded to include homeless high school students.

The Hospital Patient Support program provides sweatshirts and sweatpants to patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital in emergency situations such as assault and trauma. This program also provides clothing, underwear and footwear for homeless people who come to the emergency room.

The Care Center Support program provides cards and gifts to patients in care centers who have no family members, and the Enrichment Scholarship Program provides over $44,000 in scholarships to Whatcom County middle and high school students to attend enrichment camps in the summer.

Assistance League of Bellingham operates a Thrift & Gift Shop at 2817 Meridian Street and has two annual resource development events. The earned and contributed monies are spent in Whatcom County. Volunteers contribute many hours each month to support the programs.

If you are interested in volunteering and making a difference in our community consider becoming a participating member.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Sadler
President
