IMG_3975Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to volunteering, you’ll find many opportunities as a member of Assistance League of Bellingham. We are an all volunteer organization which means we have no employees, no salaried executive director and no paid board of directors. Our volunteer members do it all.

Membership is open to those who wish to provide service to our community and who want to experience the inner rewards that comes from helping others. Members enjoy personal growth, a sense of fellowship and meaningful friendships from their association with Assistance League. If you have a caring heart, a generous spirit and a desire to help people in Whatcom County, please consider joining us.

Members pay dues and contribute a minimum of 100 hours of service per year by working in our Thrift & Gift Shop, serving on committees, attending meetings, and participating in special fundraising and social events. We want those interested in membership to understand the commitment we ask of our members.

For this reason, individuals attend an new member recruitment class prior to joining to ensure they fully understand the commitment they are making and to familiarize them with the community programs and fundraising activities of the organization.
